I am most of the way through the first book, and I think that Britain may call it World War Three, and France too, as they had three months of peace, but I think in the States we would just say World War Two ended in, say, 1947 (or 1948, or whenever the shooting stops) because we did not even have three hours of peace, and especially as the Russians had joined our enemy Japan in the East.

In the books I use both, in order to reinforce the confusion of the time. In the end I settle for World War Three, despite the fact that there is no actual end to the fighting between May 45 and August 45, as it continues in the Far East.
